The History of Our Law Firm
Back in the late 1920s, Dr. Hörst founded his law firm, which since 1948 was conducted as Lawyers Hörst, Brunner, Topf, Lawyers at the Higher Regional Court. Mr. Liesenborghs founded his law firm in 1953 under the name Liesenborghs and Hahndorf, Attorneys at the District Court.
In 1972, the simultaneous admission for lawyers was introduced in Baden-Württemberg. Thus, each lawyer admitted in Baden-Württemberg was entitled to act both before the district court of his admission as well as the higher regional court. The introduction of simulcasting induced the two, until then predominantly forensic law firms, to merge into a larger law firm with several professionals from 1972 onwards. Since then our firm has operated under the name Brunner, Liesenborghs & Partner PartG mbB.
The economic development in the southwest of Germany and the associated need for advice and representation of a predominantly medium-sized clientele led in the subsequent period to the consistent expansion of the range of advisory services, mainly in the field of commercial law, including tax law. This was accompanied by a significant increase in the number of lawyers working in the law firm.
In addition, the range of counseling services in the area of civil law, especially in the area of family law and the law of succession, has been expanded.
This concept was so successful that within just a few years, the consulting area outnumbered the same number of forensic mandates.
As early as 1971, one year before the merger of the two law firms, the Parlex Group of European Lawyers was co-founded in Freiburg by Attorney Hahndorf.
The Parlex Group was registered in London as the first Pan-European lawyer agreement. Shortly after the Parlex Group of European Lawyers was founded, it had an international network of specialized law firms in almost all European countries and associated law firms in the United States, Israel and Malaysia.
In 2003, Brunner, Liesenborghs & Partner PartG mbB merged with the law firm Herrgott and Schneider PartG mbB while retaining its name.
There are currently ten attorneys at Brunner, Liesenborghs & Partner PartG mbB in Freiburg and around 300 lawyers at the Parlex Group.
